It's a bit short notice, but this weekend sees this years worldwide Go Skateboarding Day kick off. Hosted in a bunch of towns and cities around the UK, it's a great way to catch up with some like-minded people and do what we all do best.

Zoo York State Of Mind Premiere, A Review

Following the world premier on June 4th, Zoo York's new film "State of Mind" has moved out of NYC and is making its way around the world. And 17th of June was the turn of Route One's Southampton store to host one of the UK premieres.


It's been a while since Zoo York released a new video, and in the past few years their team has evolved and grown. Some have left and made room for fresh young blood to come through whilst some have stayed and continued to kill it. The new film "State of Mind" is a perfect example of a focused skate team who are absolutely killing it right now. Right from the start Brandon Westgate's section hits hard with some seriously sick skating and leads into an awesome film. And there isn't any weakness in the entire film, every section could have been a stand out section from any other film. Chas Ortiz, Forrest Kirby and Zered Bassett are all skating out of their skin right now and all throw down exceptionally good sections.


Mixed up and set around a New York backdrop keeping the Zoo York heritage alive "State of Mind" is a must for every skaters DVD collection. Really good music too.


Premiered in the very cool bar the Orange Rooms, with DJ Richie Rich Ashworth playing hip hop all night and 2 x Secret Wars winner Gustav Balderdash creating a unique piece of artwork for the evening the night went down very well and was a huge success.

It's Official, Koston's On SB

It looks like we were right, Nike Skateboarding welcomes Eric Koston to the team!

Rumours have been flying around like crazy, but it's now been made official, so we can look forward to some sweet new sneaks heading our way...

Eric had this to say:
"Not only am I psyched to be a part of the great group of guys that makes up the Nike SB team, but I'm equally as excited to work with them creatively. I'm sure many people know that a lot of different Nike's have been the inspiration for my shoe designs over the last 12 years, so I feel like a f**king kid in a candy store when it comes to this partnership between Nike and I.”

Zoo York State Of Mind Premiere

The Route One store in Southampton is proud to host their second premiere of the year; Zoo York's "State of Mind", Held once again at Orange Rooms, 1-2 Vernon Street, in Southampton.
The night includes DJ Rich Ashworth back on the decks, Gustav Balderdash drawing live again and a massive raffle giveaway!
If the last premiere they hosted was anything to go by, this will be another awesome event and will be packed to the rafters, so get in early kids, it's gonna go off!!!!

R1 Team Rider Paul Bates Hits The East Coast

R1 team rider Paul Bates and friend Seamus Rafferty went out to the Eastcoast of America back in April, here's a few photos. Hitting Phillidelphia to visit some friends they spent a few days skating with Rickay, JonJon, Alf, the Neglected Truth guys and the rest of the Philly locals. Angelo Ferrera, Sal, Alex Nunez amongst other NYC locals were kind enough to show them about the five boroughs of New York sessioning the best spots around the city.
